About Me

I grew up in central Minnesota, in a landscape of corn and churches. As a child I wanted to be a visual artist, until I got my first lead role in a play in the seventh grade. From then on I was captured by the theater, leading me to pursue a degree in Acting for my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan with a Minor in English Literature.

After my B.F.A. I moved to Berlin, where I

have since laid down my roots. Berlin has substantially influenced my aesthetic and areas of artistic inquiry, the city has been generous in its plethora and given me ample fodder for my artistic development, curiosity, research and praxis. My M.A. in Theater Pedagogy from the Universität der Künste Berlin has widely expanded my scope and understanding of theater, so that I not only have the micro-scope of an actor, but also the macro-scope of a facilitator and director.

Undoubtedly, for an application of theater that is truly liberating and emancipatory, theater of the oppressed has inspired and influenced me

considerably.
